INTERNATIONAL MEDALLIC PROJECT 2027

International Medallic Project 2027 – Call for Participation: „Adaptation”

The Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland, is pleased to announce the launch of the 19th International Medallic Project 2027. This year’s leading theme is „Adaptation”.

We warmly invite studios and students from fine arts universities and colleges worldwide where contemporary medallic art is taught to join this unique initiative. The core question we challenge you to answer through your art is: How do you interpret adaptation?

Project Background & Objectives
“Adaptation” is a continuation of the previous international projects: “Pattern” (2026), “Exploration” (2025), “Structure” (2024), “Cosmos” (2023), “Symbiosis” (2022), “Transformation” (2021), “Future for nature” (2020), “Borders” (2019), “Faith” (2018), “Identity” (2017), “Civilization” (2016), “Heritage” (2015), “Bonds” (2014), “Freedom” (2013), “Signs of the time” (2012), “Home” (2011), “Time” (2010), and “Dialogue” (2009).

The main goals of the project are to promote medallic art, introduce students to this unique discipline, and connect artistic centers from around the globe. It serves as an open platform for exchanging experiences, thoughts, and opinions on contemporary medallic forms, showcasing a vast diversity of formal approaches and the creative use of various materials.

Participation Details
The project is open to all fine arts institutions worldwide. The assignment lasts for one academic term, and the final results will be presented in a joint exhibition.

If your studio and students are interested in participating in this year’s edition, you will find the enclosed guidelines for 2027.

Please send high-resolution photos of your artwork (format: 300 dpi) via email to s.p.mikolajczak@gmail.com. Please also include a photograph of each participant (labeled with their first name and surname), as well as one joint photograph of all participants alongside their leading professor (including the full name of the university and faculty).

The photographic documentation of all works will be presented on the websites of each participating studio/academy, as well as on professional medallic art websites. Moreover, a collective poster featuring all the artworks will be produced and sent to the participants. Participants may also optionally organize exhibitions at their own academies using the posters showing the results of the project.
